EOG Technical Committee Designates New Management

Sameh Sabry, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Wintershall Dea, will be leading the Egypt Oil & Gas (EOG) Technical Committee as chairman, starting from July 1.

Alongside Sabry, Colby Fuser; VP Halliburton Egypt and Libya, will provide his support as a co-chair with Mohamed Fouad, Managing Director of EOG. The new management will be set up for a transitional period of six months, until a new chairman is selected. Sabry will be succeeding Tom Maher,

President and COO at Apex International Energy. Maher chaired the committee for three years, where he exerted an incredible effort to reinforce the committee’s vital presence in the oil and gas sector, in line with the committee’s goals. Among Maher’s most notable achievements while chairing the committee is establishing three subcommittees: CSR Subcommittee, HSE Subcommittee, and Brownfields Subcommittee, in addition to kicking off three successful Upstream Technical Conventions.

EOG Committee was launched in 2012 to unify the industry’s voice and to work in parallel with the government to enhance the well-being of the petroleum industry. Egypt Oil & Gas Committee brings together exploration and production companies, service companies, government entities, and leading industry experts under one roof to address the challenges the industry is facing, and to find potential solutions.
